1. Hong Kong's third-dose vaccination rate reaches 50 per cent

The Government appeals to eligible persons for receiving the third dose of COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible to enhance protection and to prepare for the implementation of stage three Vaccine Pass at the end of this month. As of May 12, about 3.38 million people had received their third COVID-19 vaccine dose, accounting for 50 per cent of the population aged 12 or above.

2. Government updates list of places of recognised vaccination records

The Government announced that it has concluded discussions with the Government of Kyrgyzstan to accept vaccination records issued by Kyrgyzstan as recognised vaccination records for persons arriving at Hong Kong who have stayed in overseas places under the mechanism. The relevant arrangements take effect at 0.00am on May 11.

3. Government announces additional rapid antigen test to "test-and-hold" arrangements at airport

The Government announced that with effect from May 9, an additional rapid antigen test (RAT) will be conducted during the "test-and-hold" at the airport to strengthen the testing arrangements for inbound persons for earlier detection and isolation of infected persons, and to enhance the process of closed-loop management from the airport to designated quarantine hotels (DQHs) so as to shorten the waiting time for inbound persons at the airport.

4. 62nd and 63rd rounds of compulsory testing for staff members of RCHEs, RCHDs and nursing homes

The Government announced the details of the 62nd and 63rd rounds of compulsory testing for staff members of residential care homes for the elderly (RCHEs), residential care homes for persons with disabilities (RCHDs) and nursing homes.
