1. Government implements most stringent boarding and quarantine requirements for eight places in southern Africa

​​The Government announced that in view of the latest developments of the COVID-19 epidemic situation, the boarding and quarantine requirements for persons arriving from Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe was be tightened from 0.00am on November 27. Along with South Africa which is already a specified high-risk place, non-Hong Kong residents who have stayed in these places within 21 days would not be allowed to enter Hong Kong.

2. CHP provides latest information on COVID-19's Variant of Concern, Omicron

​​In view of the latest announcement by the World Health Organization (WHO) concerning the Omicron variant, the Government implemented the most stringent boarding and quarantine requirements for eight places in southern Africa on November 26. Starting November 28, the CHP has further strengthened the quarantine and testing requirements for Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) residents arriving from the relevant places, including arranging them to stay in quarantine centre for seven days.

3. Persons under compulsory quarantine at designated quarantine hotels must not wear masks with any exhalation valve or vent

​​To further prevent the transmission of COVID-19, the Government issued directions under the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (Cap. 599F) to stipulate that a person under compulsory quarantine at a designated quarantine hotel (DQH) and his or her accompanying carer must not wear a mask with any exhalation valve or vent.

4. COVID-19 Mobile Vaccination Station to commence December 3

​​The Government will launch the COVID-19 Mobile Vaccination Station on December 3 to enable members of the public, in particular elderly persons, to receive a COVID-19 vaccination in a convenient and efficient manner at their gathering places in the community. The Mobile Vaccination Station will first provide services to people residing in the vicinity of Sun Chui Estate in Sha Tin.

5. Latest operation arrangements for Community Vaccination Centres

​​The Government announced that 10 Community Vaccination Centres (CVCs) will extend their operation until the end of March next year.

6. 39th round of compulsory testing for staff members of RCHEs, RCHDs and nursing homes to commence shortly

​​The Government announced that the 39th round of compulsory testing for staff members of residential care homes for the elderly (RCHEs), residential care homes for persons with disabilities (RCHDs) and nursing homes will commence shortly.
