TS Tsang Visits Ethnic Minorities Social Service Centre

December 20, 2013

Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing today visited the HOME Support Service Centre for Ethnic Minorities in Yau Ma Tei, to celebrate the festive season with children there.

Mr Tsang learned about services and activities provided by the centre, which is funded by the Home Affairs Department.

"Hong Kong is a city with diversified cultures. People of different ethnic origins care for one another and live in harmony,” he said.

While ethnic minorities face language barriers and cultural differences, the department will continue to collaborate with community organisations to serve them, he added.

The centre is one of five support service centres the department has commissioned in partnership with non-profit-making organisations, and provides services to 9,000 people from ethnic minorities.
